Student Support - Visit our Floristry Student Blog

Having recently completed a first diploma in Floristry and starting the advanced diploma I have found a lot of short cuts, tips and information sources that I reckon you would find useful whether you are starting the diploma, doing an evening class or are a self taught home arranger or enthusiast. I plan to add to this facility as time goes on but if you find anything interesting or useful to your fellow students let me know and we might include it. Contact us at floristique@googlemail.com

Good Books to buy or borrow

There a loads of books around, some better than others.  I imagine you might be given a book list by your college (if you are a student) but more often than not you will want to find more information to help you along.  When it comes to buying books, even used ones (I found a used copy of an excellent floristry book for 1p+P&P) I always used Amazon and their books are on our books page.  So go to our books page.  Here are some recommendations.

Help with your Assessments

Now this is a bit of a contentious issue because I don't believe in doing someone's homework for them but to be honest a lot of the assignments you will have to do, especially on the First Diploma Course, revolve around creating your own portfolios of information for future reference. This in turn involves a huge amount of time spent finding images, online references and pouring through books to condense the information into a coherent reference source for your own use (many online and book references are listed in these pages). However, if you are struggling to find the information let us know at Floristique and we will try and help.
